Dana White Explains Why Ronda Rousey Vs. Miesha Tate Isn't Happening (and Throws Shade at Tate)

Dana White isn't impressed with Meisha Tate's winning streak.

Ronda Rousey is 12-0. Two of those 12 came from submissions from Miesha Tate. A loss is a loss, but it's also worth noting that Tate is the only opponent to last past the third round. She's also won four straight fights.

But that's not quite good enough to earn another shot at Rousey, according to Dana White. Instead, White told the Los Angeles Times that Rousey will face Holly Holm, a boxing export who's been doing well in the MMA world (as in undefeated well). This comes after White said in July that Rousey would face Tate. Like album releases, matchups aren't a sure thing anymore.

Anyways, White explained his decision in a way Tate ought to take mild offense to: "We were talking about Miesha from the start, then as we started sitting around we were saying, ‘Everyone has seen the Miesha fight already.' A third fight in a rivalry usually comes after the stuff we'd see in [Arturo] Gatti-[Micky] Ward. With Miesha, the result has been the same twice. Everyone's already seen that fight."

The shade didn't end there: "I'm not sure losing another fight to Ronda so soon would be good for Miesha."

Oof. Well, if she does get that title shot, at least Tate has more time to focus on how to not get caught in another armbar.
