PROMO: Selfridges X Complex Presents: Y-3

The latest drop from Selfridges X Complex is here.

In the second installment of the ongoing Selfridges X Complex partnership, we're shining a spotlight on Y-3, the ground-breaking label that was the first instance of fashion teaming up with sportswear, in Yohji Yamamoto and adidas.

When the label launched 13 years ago, it proved to be a precursor of what was to come, with the world of fashion and sportswear moving closer and closer until they reached where they sit now, which is firmly within the same space.

Fall/Winter 2015 from Y-3 sees the label take hefty inspiration from military and aviation themes, with a couple of brilliant camos, jumpsuits, woolen shirts, and bomber jackets all making appearances. There's also a real utilitarian feel, with cuffed ankles and high collar lines featuring throughout. In the video, flares and drone footage are used to reflect the military implications of the collection, and it's complimented by an absolutely killer track.

We couldn't have asked for more from MSSINGNO, who created the blistering soundtrack for this video. As with all the best, most forward-thinking electronica, such sounds defy classification. Let's not try to attach one either because while it remains nameless and without boundaries, it leaves all the room in the world for joyously weird artists like MSSINGNO to explore the outer reaches of their imaginations.
