Who possibly could have imagined that a Netflix original series about America's favorite drug lordPablo Escobar would be wildly successful? Though the answer to that question is already "everyone," we now have the paperwork necessary to make such a claim official. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has just signed on for another season of Narcos with a new showrunner and a stacked writing staff.

With Chris Brancato having left the series for ABC's Of Kings and Prophets, The Shield's Adam Fierro will now take a nicely padded seat in the showrunner's throne. The Medellin cartel drama will now list Brancato as a "co-creator" in future episodes, a thankful nod toward his guiding hand throughout the first season of Narcos.

Of course, Netflix is certainly no stranger to inarguable success with regards to original programming. Narcos, a pound-for-pound blockbuster in its own right, joins the increasingly long list of previous Netflix smashes such as Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, Bloodline, BoJack Horseman, and Daredevil.

Enjoy the view from the top, Netflix. Apple's coming for you.
